I've just tested in a Windows 10 VM, that a fresh installation of the Microsoft Visual C++ 2019 Redistributable Package (x64) - 14.36.32532 allows the installation of VirtualBox 7.0.10.

Oracle acquired Virtualbox (and MySql) as part of their take-over of Sun Microsystems a few years ago. In true Oracle fashion they immediately started monetizing VirtualBox by creating their own paid-for support program. The Oracle VM version ties into that, but is nothing more than a rebrand of a slightly older version VirtualBox.
In consequence, you would find only files from previous VM runs inside the M:\VirtualBox VMs\Nectar\Logs\ folder. I suggested to compare the timestamp (date and time) of the files (not their contents) in the host's filesystem to your wall clock time. Alternatively, you could delete the log files before trying to start the VM.
So VirtualBox only can be installed into paths where only Administrators or system accounts have the ability to do so. Quite smart, one of the ONLY program ever made which have such paranoid requirement, and what do we gain for this ? Annoyance and wasted time, thank you guys, really, such improvements are so great and enjoyable !
Windows 98 has been running pretty well in VirtualBox, but with the latest motherboard and VirtualBox updates, it has not been possible. Decided to give Windows 98 and VirtualBox a new tryout and ended up with a Windows 98 version much better than in DOSBox-X. Motherboard is now Intel 11th Gen, 32GB RAM, NVMe drives and VirtualBox 6.1.42.
The virtual box files with extension .vbox contain metadata the virtualbox hypervisor requires to resolve the guest virtual OS' configuration. If the main .vbox file is corrupted (i.e. reporting that it is empty) then use the backup .vbox-prev file to recover the contents of the original file.
