On July 5, 1999 WCW Monday Nitro took place in front of 25,338 fans at the Georgia Dome and aired live on TNT. Bret Hart returned to WCW television for the first time since his brother Owen’s death on May 23rd. It marked Bret’s first public comments on Owen since the accident. Bret wouldn’t return to action until the September 13, 1999 episode of Nitro in a tag team match with Hulk Hogan against Sting and Lex Luger, reestablishing himself as a face in the process. | Davenport Sports Network
